Join us for our second beginners workshop in the main hall at St Mary’s Church Leamington on 16th June 2018.
We had a lovely time earlier this month and one of the ladies who attended shared a couple of lovely projects she had created since the workshop. I think she’s done a beautiful job of applying the dotting technique don’t you? 😊
As you can see, this technique can be used in all sorts of ways to create your own unique gifts and cards, or to simply update and brighten up objects to give them a new lease of life!
Don’t delay, download the Booking Form-BeginnersJun2018 and click this link to be taken to the payment page.
I look forward to welcoming you to the Folk It! 😊
Well, this took a little longer than I had expected! Still, plenty of time for you to put some of these lovely hanging decorations together. They are really simple to do – no sewing, no gluing, no mess 🙂
- 8cm Polysterne discs
- Ribbon in contrasting colours (approx 4cm x 2m & 0.5cm x 20-25cm)
- Sequin pins
- Decorative bows/flowers/discs for the centres.
I’ve attempted videos this time to give you a visual (no sound though). Bear with me, it’s not brilliant but hey, we all have to start somewhere 😉 Comments and/or suggestions will be gratefully received. Hopefully the more I do the better they will become. No one could be more surprised than me at my love of crafting because I have never seen myself as creative, or artistic. In fact I have the utmost respect for those who can draw anything that actually resembles what it is supposed to be, and totally in awe of those who can create something that looks positively photographic!
These pieces are not in the same league, but I derive great satisfaction at being able to create something so pretty which can then be used in all sorts of ways: card making, wall hangings, photograph frames etc. So these first photographs are of some Folk Art.
Dot Roses & Hearts
And these are of machine embroidered bowls, again, something I didn’t think I could do but got so much satisfaction when I saw the results of my efforts 😊
In response to WP weekly photo challenge. See more satisfied bloggers here.
Happy Monday! Have a wonderful week 😀
This is a small selection of some folk art pieces I have completed using one of the Folk It! kits.
The techniques are very easy (they have to be for me!) combining dot-painting with simple brush strokes, and designs which you can mix and add to, to create your own unique designs.
The possibilities are endless and this is one of my favourite crafts at the moment, I can’t wait to learn the more advanced techniques. You can find workshops and kits by following this link: https://www.folkit.co
