After being knocked down by a 48-hour bug for a couple of days at the end of this week, I wasn’t sure I’d even make the summer fete today, so much so that last night my wonderful husband was ready to hold the fort for me if required. Thankfully (much to his relief I’m sure) that wasn’t necessary in the end and what a great day we had 🙂
They say a picture paints a thousand words so I’m going to let them do most of the talking for this post.
We’re all set up
Some of the hand painted and decoupage items for sale
Showing the children some of the dotty designs they could use (first photo taken by a member of Myton Hospices)
Some of the fab ‘make and take’ hearts the children created
And a few from around the event though not as many as I would like to be sharing because I didn’t get much chance to look round, but that was a good thing 😊
Although I don’t yet know what Myton Hospices managed to raise from the day, I do know it was jam-packed from beginning to end and everyone I spoke to was having a thoroughly wonderful day. The organisers were fantastic – not only did they look after all the members of the public, but they took time out to take care of all the stall holders too, coming round regularly with cool drinks of squash and checking we were okay.
A really fabulous event to be part of and I’m already looking forward to next year’s Myton Hospices summer fete!
Regarding ‘The Myton Butterfly’ I had specially cut for the event, which I had intended for the children (and anyone else) to decorate, most of the parents were worried the kids would ‘ruin’ it so, despite several attempts to encourage them otherwise, they preferred that they painted the smaller ones. These are still packed at the moment so I haven’t had chance to take photographs, but I will update you on these and the larger one (which I will decorate myself) later this week, together with the total we raised by doing the ‘paint the butterfly’ table.
Until then THANK YOU! to everyone who stopped by my stand to look, have a chat, purchase items and/or paint with us. May your Monday be a great start to the rest of your week.
God bless 🤗 x
